The Adventure Continues..

SURPRISE!

It has been one, LONG year of doctors appointments for us, trying to find out if it's healthy for us have a baby. If you're just joining our journey, Chuck and I have been in and out of seeing doctors for my kidneys. I've had a refluxing kidney since I was little. I had surgery to repair it when I was 13 years old. It worked, and then a few years ago when I suffered from kidneys stones, the reflux was back. The kidney specialists all agreed I needed to consult with an OB. But not after one telling me "lets rip that kidney out and throw it in a bucket". Needless to say I wrote her one nasty review after crying my eyes out on her exam table.

The first OB said we'd be fine, go ahead, have fun. And 2 weeks later left a voice message saying we better stop trying, I'm definitely high risk. We saw a high risk OB and he scared the crap out of us. We left feeling totally defeated. We went in to see a second high risk OB, and we we're prepared for more bad news. But he surprised us. He was encouraging and had confidence I was going to be okay. So he scheduled an ultrasound just to make sure my uterus wasn't misshapen.
4 days later, I was calling him to tell him it was too late. The test was good and positive and I think I needed a BABY ULTRASOUND.

So here it is... the first picture of Baby Kaufman. The sweetest little pea we've ever seen.

So every week I plan to do this fun little survey so I can come back here and see the growing bump. Hope you enjoy following along:

Movement: No, the little babe is only as big as a blueberry
Cravings: I haven't really had much of an appetite lately, but I've been eating many oranges
